HSCImage

HSCImage is a compact FITS image viewer optimized specifically to display 104 2k4k CCD images obtained by Hyper Suprime-Cam on the 8.2 m Subaru Telescope. The goal is enabling observers to browse and diagnose the mosaic images efficiently during the observation.

System Requirements

• macOS Version >= 10.15 (Catalina)
• Memory >= 16 GB preferred to deal with HSC mosaic
• Mac with discrete GPU (such as Mac Pro, iMac and Macbook Pro >= 15 inch) is preferred for convenient browsing of large images. The GPU is used to clip pixel values into 8 bit [0:255] as well as displaying images.
• SSD preferred for fast read. SSD these days is typically 10 to 100 times faster than hard drives depending mostly on the interface.
